These two suits of armour where made over the winter of 2009 to spring 2010 for a number of Larp events throughout the year.
I was originally simply going to make two suits of full foam armour in much the same way as the my chainsowrds, and after starting on working them that way I dicided instead of painting them with Latex, why not layer on some Fiberglass over the top and make some fiberglass armour!!
How hard could that be?
Turns out VERY! After three months of work I came out with every single piece of costume you see on Myself (in the foreground) and my Co-hort and Comissioner in that photo.
From the LARP safter chainsword weapons, the customized Nerf weapon into a BoltPistol to the backpacks and hanging Inquisition Symbols around our necks.
These suits where truly monumental built, took half an hour for both to get into them but where AMAZINGLY light, warm and fantastically easy to move around in.
I was lucky that my friend was exactly my size and everything I patterned on myself fitter her perfectly, and thanks to spending an entire month patterning everything over and over our freedom of movement whilst in these things was second to none.
They also took one hell of a beat at this larp event.
What you can't see in this photo is that there is a CamelBack water container hidden in our backpacks that comes through in a tube into our collars for hydration.
Also, over the left hand shoulder is a multi-functional torch that came in AMAZINGLY useful for our events. But also had a Laser in it for FREAKING THE HELL out of people.
I'll see if I can find any better pictures of them for later uploading.
