This was a guide I put together for a pair of hooves/digitigrade feet that I made and was amazingly proud of!

You can also find the blog post that goes with this, with better quality photos than these thumbnails here:

Any questions, comments or requests please feel free to throw them in the comments.

These hooves themselves have since been retrofitted into the Worgen feet you can see elsewhere in my gallery. Crazy rushed costume, they're now waiting for their next outing in a different costume. :3

Yes, I do, and a big part of that is having given then grip so they feel stable to walk in.
It helps that I have a very good sense of balance and experience with stilt walking, but it's no different really from walking on the balls of your feet if the shoe bits are secure enough.

I ways wanted to try this method, but doesnt it hurt trying to stand on your tippie oes with no support on the back? Or is the sole strong enough it wont give in to resting your feet?

I wouldn't say that it hurts, it does ache after a while, and you can mitigate that somewhat by carrying on moving (taking weight off your feet step by step), and using gel inserts to soften the base of the shoe.
However, I was up on these for about four hours, which involved a lot of walking and posing for photos, climbing 14 flights of stairs in the venue and only on the way back to the car was I starting to get any 'pain'.

Also, the shoes themselves being very snug and secure will make it a lot more comfy and secure as the more they are just an extension of your own feet, the better it is.
Making sure that it is very snug and secure also gives you plenty of support, that's one of the reasons I mention having a solid sole, but you'll find you spend more of your time balancing off the balls of your feet, rather than needing to support the back of your feet. If that make sense!

There is another bonus, when you come down from them you feel freer than EVER! It's amazing.
